City Celebrates Compost Awareness Week by Giving Free Compost to Residents
In celebration of Compost Awareness Week, the City of Regina is giving back compost to Regina residents, while supplies last.
Residents are encouraged to bring pails and shovels to collect nutrient-rich compost ideal for gardens, flower beds and landscaping projects. Compost is made using organic material collected through the Food and Yard Waste Service (green carts) and the City’s Yard Waste Depot.
Dates and Location:
- May 9 and 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while supplies last.
- NEW Location: The compost site will be located directly north of the Waste Management Center. The entrance is on Prince of Wales Drive.
Guidelines:
- This is a self-serve depot.
- Bring your own shovel and containers.
- Limit of three, five-gallon pails per household.
- Use tarps and secure loads when transporting.
- Signs will be posted to direct traffic flow.
- Limited quantities are available.
