City of Regina Asks for Residents’ Feedback on Wascana Parkway Extension Project
The City of Regina has launched a survey asking residents for feedback on the Wascana Parkway Extension Project.
“This extension has been a longstanding potential project and part of the City’s recommended road network since the 1980s,” said Evan Guenther, Director, Sustainable Infrastructure. “The City wants to hear from residents before it moves ahead to make sure that feedback is taken into consideration every step of the way.”
The extension project would relieve congestion in east Regina by offering an alternate route in and out of the southeast. The project is currently in the functional design phase, which is planned to conclude at the end of 2026. The functional design phase will assess feasibility of the possible extension, consider impacts to the project area and make recommendations. If the project is found to be feasible, the next steps would include requesting funding for preliminary design, detailed design and construction.
Residents are invited to take part in an online survey that will inform the City’s next steps. The survey, which is open from May 28, 2026 to June 24, 2026, can be accessed here.
The survey is part of a comprehensive engagement strategy to inform and consult residents, impacted and interested groups and rightsholders. Environmental, heritage, floodplain, traffic safety and noise considerations will be key considerations as the City moves forward.
