City of Regina Introduces Inclusion Support Service Recreation Support for All
Residents facing barriers in accessing and participating in recreation programs can now access new supports. A new Inclusion Support Service now being launched following a small pilot project.
This free service offers two types of support:
- Pre-participation assists in finding suitable programs and activities, navigating registration, and applying for affordable access.
- Leisure companions provide participants with one-to-one support to the participant while accessing City recreation programs and facilities.
Inclusion Support Service offers one-time, short-term, or ongoing service based on the needs of individual participants. With the addition of Leisure Companions, the goal is to have participants enjoy all that the City’s facilities have to offer.
The Inclusion Support Service, along with the Adapted Recreation Plan, reflects the City’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
