Fall Sweep Begins in Select Neighbourhoods Sign up for Street Sweep notifications
The fall street sweep runs from Monday, October 16 to Friday, October 27. Be in-the-know and avoid a ticket and tow. Download the free Sweep&Plow app to get alerts to move your car, or sign up for customized notifications, including email or phone, at Regina.ca/sweep.
The fall street sweep takes place in areas with mature trees and where street flooding can become problematic, including the Crescents, Cathedral, Lakeview, North Central, and the General Hospital area including Centre Square and Heritage neighbourhoods. Residents in these areas are asked to watch for signs and park off-street on sweep days.
City crews will complete the fall sweep between 4 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday until October 27, weather dependent. Residents are asked to watch for signs. Cars that are parked in a No Parking zone will be ticketed and towed. If a car is towed, it will be moved within a two to four block radius of the area. Residents are asked to call Service Regina at 306-777-7000 if they need help locating their vehicle.
Parking off-street and sharing driveways with neighbours allows the sweeper to access curbs, parking lanes and storm drains to pick up leaves and reduce neighbourhood drainage issues.
Street sweepers can create dusty conditions that reduce visibility. Please close windows and walk on alternative sidewalks. When driving, provide the sweeping equipment with lots of room, slow down and be safe. The City of Regina thanks residents for their cooperation.
People living in all neighbourhoods can help with the fall clean-up. Before winter comes, prepare for next year’s spring melt by removing leaves and debris away from nearby storm drains.
