Regina Celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day
Residents are invited to attend Regina’s National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration on Friday June 19 in Victoria Park. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The celebration begins with the Grand Entry followed by dignitary greetings and a series of performances on the stage at the west side of the Park, and will conclude with the Grand Exit.
“Regina’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Network is excited to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day,” said Fawn Redwood, Event Committee Chair and HR Manager, Indigenous Engagement for SaskTel. “This year’s event will have performers, artisans and educators throughout the park.”
This day is an opportunity to deepen understanding and appreciation of the heritage and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. The events will feature performances, activities, an Indigenous artisan market and interactive educational experiences such as beading, finger weaving and a tipi demonstration.
