Regina Residents Can Apply for Flood Compensation
City Council Passes Resolution to Activate Provincial Claims Process
Regina residents impacted by heavy rain events on June 2 and June 7 can now apply for provincial assistance. At today’s City Council meeting, Mayor Sandra Masters and City Council voted unanimously to enable residents to apply for the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP). The program provides compensation for non-insurable damages caused by the recent rainstorms.
On June 2 and June 7, the City of Regina received significant rainfall in short periods of time. Neighbourhoods across Regina experienced flooding as catch basins could not keep up with the demand.
"The City of Regina is grateful for this financial support," said Regina Mayor Sandra Masters. "It's vital that Regina's residents have the opportunity to apply for these funds to help cover the cost of repairs caused by heavy rainfalls.”
The PDAP program is delivered by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA). To apply for the PDAP program, residents should visit https://www.saskpublicsafety.ca/emergencies-and-response/provincial-disaster-assistance-program, call 306-787-7800 or email pdapdocs@gov.sk.ca.
