Firepit and Barbeque Safety
each, like a hose or bucket filled with water. Use your barbeque outside only, never indoors or in
a garage. Barbeque on a solid surface, away from trees, shrubs,
overhangs and structures like your home, garage, fence or shed. Always light the barbeque with the
lid open. When finished barbequing, turn off the cylinder valve first, then the grill controls.
Ensure coals are soaked with water before discarding. Never store spare propane cylinders indoors
or in a garage. The Regina Fire Bylaw allows recreational fires without a permit when they are
contained in a proper firepit or outdoor fireplace on private residential property, or in one of
the City's designated park firepit locations, provided all regulations are followed. Bonfires and
other open-air fires are not allowed without a permit. Failure to comply with firepit regulations
may result in a $300 fine per offence. Residents who witness unsafe firepit use or have concerns
about smoke from a neighbouring firepit can contact Service Regina at 306-777-7000 or submit a
service request online at Regina.ca. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.
For a complete list of firepit regulations and outdoor fire safety information, visit Regina.ca/Firepit.

wider pedestrian walkways, improved lighting and new trees will
complete the streetscape. Once complete, Transit traffic will return to 11th Avenue. Construction
in 2026 will require a road closure between Scarth Street and Cornwall Street, beginning on April
