Every School, Every Day.
Regina's school zones and playground zones are 30 km/hr. A slower speed gives drivers more time to see hazards, stop safely and protect children and other pedestrians.

To limit traffic around schools, we encourage walking or biking to school, if possible.
Plan a safe and active route to school to keep yourself and others safe!

- Keep to 30 km/hr at all times.
- No U-turns inside any school zone.
- Never stop or park in a posted “no stopping” zone –even for a quick drop off.
- Let pedestrians fully clear the road before moving again.
- Watch for safety patrollers and follow their signals.
- Put the phones away – school zones are no place for distraction.

- Cross only at marked crosswalks or intersections - never between parked cars.
- Stop, look both ways and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
- Wear bright and visible clothing so drivers can see you.
- Walk bikes and scooters through crosswalks.
- Follow school patrollers’ instructions every time.

- Regina’s school buses don’t use stop arm signals in the city – exit the bus, wait on the sidewalk and walk to the nearest corner to cross.
- Never cross directly in front or behind a school bus.
- Cross where drivers can see you clearly – at the intersection, not mid-block.
- Hold a grown-up’s hand or a friend’s when crossing, if you can.
