Fall Sweep Begins
Beginning October 15, the City will conduct fall street sweeping in select neighbourhoods with mature tree coverage to help keep storm drains clear of leaves and debris. Areas scheduled for sweeping include the Crescents, Cathedral, Lakeview, North Central and the General Hospital neighbourhood. Sweeping will take place on weekdays between 4 a.m. and 4:30 p.m, with work expected to continue through October 28, weather permitting.
Residents are encouraged to watch for posted signs and move vehicles off the street on scheduled sweep days. Parking off-street and sharing driveway space with neighbours where possible helps crews clean the curb more effectively. Residents can download the free Regina Sweep and Plow app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to receive reminders when sweeping is scheduled in their area. Customized notifications by email or phone are also available at Regina.ca/Sweep.
Street sweeping may create temporary dusty conditions and reduced visibility. Residents are encouraged to keep windows closed during sweeping operations and use alternate sidewalks when possible. Drivers should slow down, use caution and provide sweepers with plenty of space to work safely.
The City thanks residents for their cooperation as crews complete this seasonal maintenance work.
