Discharge of Firearms and Projectiles Bylaw
The Discharge of Firearms and Projectiles Bylaw was established to regulate the discharge of firearms within the city.
Overview
- Firearm includes any device from which any shot, bullet, missile or other projectile can be discharged and, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, includes a rifle, shotgun, pistol, revolver, spring gun, pellet gun, air gun, longbow, compound bow, crossbow or slingshot.
- The Chief of Regina Police Service is authorized to administer and enforce this bylaw and delegate any police officer the power, duty or function assigned to the Chief of Police.
- No person shall cause, permit or allow the discharge of a firearm in the city, excluding the exceptions outlined in this bylaw.
Consequences
There are fines in place for individuals and/or corporations who do not comply to the regulations within the bylaw. Fines can reach up to $5,000.
