2025 Construction Season Passes Midway Point
The City is building stronger infrastructure to support a growing and more livable Regina.
“By using strong collaboration and project coordination, our team continues to make real progress and complete projects in a timely manner”, said Kurtis Doney, Deputy City Manager for City Operations. “This work will have a positive impact on the everyday lives of Regina residents.”
With the 2025 construction season now more than halfway through, the City has invested in key priorities for residents by already completing approximately 40 per cent of its planned projects. From the start of the 2025 construction season until July 15, these investments have:
- Improved 10 km of roads as part of the Residential Road and Street Infrastructure Renewal Programs.
- Upgraded 3.5 km of sidewalks.
- Removed 184 City-owned lead service connections.
- Replaced 2.2 km of water mains.
- Relined 2.5 km of water mains, 792 metres of storm sewer mains and 786 metres of wastewater mains.
Six major construction projects are underway and in various stages of completion. Both the Dewdney Avenue Revitalization Project and the Water Network Expansion Project are expected to be completed this year, benefiting Regina residents with upgrades to a key corridor and the City’s water network. Residents can learn about these projects and all the 2025 major projects at Regina.ca/Construction. There is also now a video on this website showcasing what these projects will look like when they are finished.
This season, the City continues to use many construction best practices to achieve its goals, including operating multiple crews at the same time and scheduling nighttime and weekend work whenever possible.
Residents continue accessing tools to learn about the latest construction projects in their neighbourhoods. The planned construction map is being accessed frequently, with more than 3,000 visitors to Regina.ca/ConstructionMap since its launch in May. This map is updated daily, making it a valuable tool for residents to keep up with evolving construction projects.
The 2025 construction season is in its final stretch, with most projects expected to be finished by the time the snow falls. During the remaining construction season, residents are reminded to plan ahead, slow down and drive safely within construction zones. Our construction workers are relying on you to help keep them safe.
