2026 Spring Street Sweep Underway
The City of Regina has begun street sweeping across the city to clean up neighbourhoods, remove leaves and clear sand and debris from roads so it doesn’t end up in our sewer system.
Spring street sweeping happens in two phases and takes about 10 weeks to complete, depending on the weather. The first phase has begun and includes boulevards and major roads such as Albert Street and Lewvan Drive. Crews will also clean higher-density areas like Harbour Landing, General Hospital, Downtown and Cathedral. During this phase, crews will work up to 20 hours a day, five days a week.
The second phase will begin in late April and will focus on residential streets.
During the first phase, parking will not be allowed on streets scheduled for sweeping. Vehicles left in no-parking zones may receive a $120 ticket and be towed so crews can clean the full width of the road. Signs will be posted to show when parking is not allowed.
Residents can prepare by downloading the Sweep&Plow app to find out when crews will be in their neighbourhood. Or visit Regina.ca/Sweep and enter your address to find out when crews will be in your neighbourhood.
Street sweeping can create dust that makes it harder to see. Residents should close their windows and use sidewalks away from the work when possible. If you see sweeping equipment, slow down, leave plenty of space and drive carefully.
