City Opens Majority of Outdoor Rinks Across Regina
The City of Regina has opened the majority of its outdoor rinks for the season, providing residents with access to free skating at locations across the city.
“Outdoor skating is a long-standing winter activity in Regina, and the rinks provide residents with safe and accessible spaces to enjoy throughout the season,” said Diana Burton, Director of Recreation & Cultural Services.
The City maintains and operates eight indoor arenas, six shinny sites and more than 50 outdoor skating rinks. Currently, 40 outdoor rinks are open, including Victoria Park, with additional locations opening as ice preparation continues and conditions allow.
Outdoor rinks are typically open from December to late February, depending on weather and ice conditions.
Outdoor rinks are part of the City’s Winter City Stamp Rally, an interactive game that encourages residents and visitors to explore winter locations across Regina by collecting stamps and earning points toward prizes. More information is available at Regina.ca/StampRally.
In addition to outdoor rinks, several indoor arenas offer public skating throughout the season, including free indoor public skates at select locations during the holiday period. Residents can find the most up-to-date information on indoor and outdoor skating locations, schedules and admission details at Regina.ca/Rinks.
