City Rinks Open for the Season
The City of Regina’s indoor rinks are now open, giving residents the chance to enjoy skating, hockey and other winter activities.
“With eight indoor arenas, more than 50 outdoor skating rinks and six shinny sites across the city, residents have plenty of opportunities to stay active and enjoy time with family and friends,” said Diana Burton, Director of Recreation & Cultural Services.
City-maintained rinks operate on seasonal schedules. Indoor arenas are open for public skating from October through March, while outdoor boarded rinks and shinny sites are available for skating and hockey during the winter months, typically from mid-December to mid-February depending on weather conditions. In summer, several outdoor rinks are converted into off-leash dog parks, ensuring the facilities are used to their fullest throughout the year.
Access to outdoor rinks and shinny sites is free. Various free public skating times are also available at four indoor arenas, while a general admission fee applies at others. Residents are encouraged to check schedules and fee information before visiting. Residents can find rink locations, hours and schedules at Regina.ca/Rinks.
By maintaining rinks across Regina, the City provides safe, welcoming spaces for residents to play, stay healthy and spend quality time together.
