City Seeks Development Partner for the Yards
The City of Regina is seeking a qualified partner to lead development of the 17-acre railyard site on Dewdney Avenue. This marks a major milestone toward transforming the former railyard site, known as the Yards, into a vibrant mixed-use urban district.
“The railyard site is a unique opportunity for infill development,” said Chad Jedlic, Director of Land, Real Estate & Economic Development. “Selecting a developer to lead the project is the next step in revitalizing the Yards and creating a complete neighbourhood for people to visit and live.”
The development partner will be responsible for planning and managing infrastructure installation, land sales and building construction on the site. This project will be a multi-year phased development.
The City secured funding to redevelop the railyard site as a mixed-use neighbourhood through the New Building Canada Fund Provincial Territorial Partnership (NBCF-PTP). The funding agreement requires the area to include a minimum of 150 housing units and a public park.
A Request for Proposals (RFP) was posted for public tender at the beginning of April. The RFP process allows the City flexibility to negotiate terms and conditions with the selected partner. The deadline to submit proposals is Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
