City of Regina Opens Applications for 2026 Henry Baker Scholarships
The City of Regina is now accepting applications for the 2026 Henry Baker Scholarship Program, which provides financial support to students attending eligible Regina-based post-secondary institutions.
“The Henry Baker Scholarship Program supports students who demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to their community,” said Diana Burton, Director, Recreation & Cultural Services. “The scholarships help reduce financial barriers as students pursue their education and career goals at Regina’s post-secondary institutions.”
Up to 18 scholarships are available, including 17 scholarships valued at $2,000 and one scholarship valued at $1,000. Applicants must have been accepted to or be enrolled in a full-time academic program at an eligible institution in Regina by the application deadline of May 31, 2026.
One of the available awards, the Mryglod Scholarship, is designated for third and fourth-year students in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Regina. Eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Established in 1990 and renamed in 1997 to honour former Mayor Henry Baker, this scholarship program reflects City Council’s commitment to supporting education and creating opportunities for local students. Since 2009, $475,000 has been awarded to 257 students.
