City of Regina transitions to PayByPhone for downtown parking starting March 1
Starting March 1, 2026, all paid on-street parking in downtown Regina will transition to PayByPhone as the only payment option. Coins will no longer be accepted. Bags with instructions on the new process will be placed over all existing meters to prevent coin payment.
Payment is still required when a meter is covered, and current parking rules remain in effect, including posted time limits and other parking regulations.
Residents can pay for parking using the PayByPhone app, online at PayByPhone.com or by calling 1-888-680-7275. Payments can be made using major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal.
More information, including step-by-step instructions guiding residents through the new system, is available at Regina.ca/PayByPhone.
This change was approved through the City’s 2026–2027 budget deliberations, which included the removal of coin payment for downtown on-street parking. The move supports a shift toward more efficient, digital service options.
The City thanks residents for their patience during this change.
