I Love Regina Day Takes Place on Saturday, August 22
Residents and visitors are invited to Victoria Park on Saturday, August 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for I Love Regina Day.
Since 2002, I Love Regina Day has brought the community together, fostering civic pride and highlighting the unique spirit, diversity and vibrancy of the city.
"I Love Regina Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything that makes our city special: our people, our local talent and our strong sense of community,” says Mayor Chad Bachynski. “Victoria Park will come alive with fun activities, entertainment and opportunities to connect with one another. I encourage residents and visitors alike to join us downtown for a day of fun as we celebrate the spirit of Regina."
Throughout the day, attendees will enjoy a variety of free, family-friendly activities, including live entertainment, interactive exhibits, children's programming, face painting, bouncy castles and the opportunities to learn more about City services, including Regina Fire & Protective Services. More than 50 community organizations will be on-site, showcasing local programs, services, arts, culture and recreation. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary barbecue and treats while quantities last.
The celebration begins with the annual I Love Regina Run and Walk at 8:30 a.m. In partnership with Run Regina, participants of all ages and abilities are invited to run, walk or wheel along accessible 3K, 5K or 10K routes through the city before crossing the finish line in Victoria Park and joining the festivities.
This year's entertainment lineup will feature performances from local artists throughout the day, concluding with a headline performance by Regina's The BrassRoots Collective.
