Scarth Street oskana kâ-asastêki Sculpture Getting Some TLC
The City of Regina will be moving the oskana kâ-asastêki sculpture from its current location on Scarth Street (F.W. Hill Mall) to protect it from any damage during the upcoming revitalization project. The sculpture is currently located at the south end of Scarth Street near the 12th Avenue entrance and is expected to be moved in the third quarter of 2026.
When it is removed, the sculpture will undergo maintenance and restoration work to help preserve it for years to come. This restoration work was recommended in a 2024 condition report by the City’s Cultural Development branch. The City is committed to the careful removal, secure storage and future reinstallation of the sculpture. Updates on this process will be shared with residents throughout the project.
Plans for the sculpture’s future location will be made through further consultation in collaboration with the Civic Arts and Culture Sector Reference Group (SRG) and aligned with the City’s Civic Art and Cultural Collections Policy (CACCP).
Construction on Scarth Street is anticipated to begin in early 2027.
