The Vision Zero framework is a globally adopted strategy that uses data to improve traffic safety in our community.
Regina’s Vision Zero Road Safety Framework was created as a renewed approach to safety for the city’s transportation network. It focuses on one goal: reducing the number of serious injuries and fatalities by 10 per cent over five years (2024-2029) by working with partner organizations to improve road safety.
Five Focus Areas: A Data-Driven Approach
The City reviewed data from 2015 to 2019 to find the common causes of collisions in Regina and recommend some preventative countermeasures. Below is a summary of those focus areas, the data behind why the City chose them and the related countermeasures.
