Celebrating Transit Workers
Whether it’s behind the wheel, on the shop floor, in transit planning, administration or customer service, our team at Regina Transit works hard to provide safe and reliable transportation to thousands of valued customers every day.
Today is Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day – an annual day for expressing our gratitude for the dedicated transit workers who keep our cities moving. March 18 was selected because it commemorates the world’s first bus line, which started running in Paris, France, on this date in 1662.
Join us in thanking the folks who help get us where we need to go. Show your appreciation by sharing positive experiences on social media and tagging @reginatransit, or with a simple “thank you!”.

On May 4, 2022, City Council approved the Regina Transit Master Plan (RTMP) as a decision-making guide to help position Regina Transit for community and economic growth over the next 25 years. The comprehensive Plan will be transformative for Regina, making public transit a main transportation mode of choice to support an accessible and sustainable community.
The RTMP was developed with extensive community engagement, research on best practices from other municipalities, and input from key internal and external stakeholders.
Identified within the Plan are 45 actions for implementation, set out for the short-, mid- or long-term, so that Regina Transit can be adaptable to changing circumstances in our community. Short-term actions include more frequent service, new electric buses, upgraded fare technology and exploring the option of free transit for youth.
This Plan leads Regina Transit in a direction that is passenger-focused and modern, to keep up with projected growth. Mass transportation helps spur economic activity and attract businesses who rely on it for customers and employees. As the city population increases and with the rise in fuel prices, it is important that residents have affordable and sustainable transportation methods.
