Transit Fares Increasing

and application processes. The passing of The Transit Fare Amendment Bylaw, 2026 also removes paper
transfers and brings in a $5 fee for new Umo cards. Only transit riders paying cash, approximately
3 per cent of transit riders, will be affected by the removal of paper transfers. Riders paying
electronically, via the Umo app or card, with debit, credit or an electronic wallet, will
automatically have a transfer applied. The increase in transit fares was approved in the 2026-2027
