order, maintain a log on all devices and have it readily available on demand for review by the fire
inspector. Install quick acting locksets on all egress doors to the exterior. Test all smoke alarms
and carbon monoxide alarms monthly or as per the manufacturer's recommendations. No cooking
appliances shall be allowed within any sleeping room. Bedroom windows in all sleeping rooms must
meet the size requirements of part 9 of the National Building Code. Fees for a fire inspection are

in additional to the residential short-term accommodation licence? No, a person applying for a
residential short-term accommodation licence is not required to apply for a residential business
licence. What is the cost of a Residential Short-Term Accommodation Licence? The fee for a
principal residence unit is $100 annually The fee for a secondary property is $300 annually How
long is a Residential Short-Term Accommodation Licence valid for? Residential short-term
accommodation licences are valid for one year from date of purchase and must be renewed annually.
How do I renew my Residential Short-Term Accommodation Licence? Residential short-term
accommodation licence renewals are sent one month prior to expiry. Renewals may be paid online, by
mail, by phone or in person at Old Fire Hall #1, 1646 11th Avenue.
