Free Programs for Children & Youth

The City offers free programs for children and youth in the community. Learn more about our Free Summer Children’s Program and Free Evening Youth Program.

After School Program

After School Program

All elementary-aged kids/youth can play, learn and keep active in an environment that develops and fosters creativity and positive self-image in our inclusive, free, drop-in after-school program at the Cathedral Neighbourhood Centre, Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre, Glencairn Neighbourhood Centre and South Leisure Centre.

Participants must have a Permission Form signed by a parent or caregiver to attend this program.

Free Evening Youth Program (MyTime)

Free Evening Youth Program Dates and Locations

Free Evening Youth Program or MyTime is a free and inclusive drop-in program for youth ages 11-15. MyTime is designed to create fun group activities for youth of all abilities, through recreation, sports, arts and games!

Participants must have a Permission Form signed by a parent or caregiver to attend this program.

Free Children's Summer Program

Free Children’s Summer Program

The Free Children’s Summer Program is an inclusive summer program for children ages five to 12. The program offers leader-facilitated play opportunities to help foster life skills, creativity, imagination and positive self-image while promoting a physically active lifestyle.  

Children are also encouraged to participate in self-directed play, allowing them to explore and discover within a safe, supervised environment. 

Program Dates and Times 

The 2026 program runs from July 6 to August 13. 

Programming at the Uplands Community Centre runs from Monday to Thursday only, with the following exception: 

  • August 4 to 6: Programming runs from Tuesday to Thursday  

At all other locations, programming generally runs Monday to Friday, with the following schedule adjustments: 

  • August 4 to 7: Programming runs from Tuesday to Friday 
  • August 10 to 13: Programming runs from Monday to Thursday 

Program hours vary by location: 

  • Some locations operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
  • Others operate from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.  

Please refer to the table below for location-specific schedules.  

 

Eligibility and Participation 

  • Children must be five years old by the first day of the program.  
  • The program is offered in one-week session blocks.  
  • Participants will be eligible to sign up for a maximum of two one-week sessions. 
  • Additional sessions may be requested by joining a waitlist.  

Children and youth of all abilities are welcome. Due to the number of participants, families of children who require one-on-one support or assistance are asked to please bring a support person or attendant.

Registration is required.  

To register:

  • Call the City of Regina PlayLine at 306-777-PLAY (7529) 

 

Participants may register for up to two one-week sessions. To register for additional weeks, please call the PlayLine to be added to the waitlist. If a location is not full after the first day of a session, waitlisted participants will be contacted in the order they were added to the list. 

All participants must complete a Participant Information Form and bring the completed form to the program location on the first day of attendance.  

Please note: The Participant Information Form does not serve as registration. Participants must register online or through the PlayLine to be officially enrolled.

FunSpots  


FunSpots is a free, drop‑in recreation program that brings play, creativity and physical activity to Regina neighbourhoods. Parents and caregivers must attend with their children.
