The City Resumes Construction on Its Southwest Sewer Upgrade Project
the additional work is expected to be completed in 2025, with landscaping and surface restoration
work being finished in 2026. It includes installing new pipes to
replace watermains, replacing storm drains, relocating SaskPower infrastructure and upgrading the
streetscape with new pavement, curbs and gutters. The first phase of
Contract 2 construction has already begun. Phase 1 is expected to be completed by Friday. It
includes parking lane restrictions north of 8th Avenue on Kent Street. Beginning on Friday, June
20, Kent Street will be closed from the 8th Avenue intersection to the park entrance. This closure
will last until August. Residents driving eastbound will need to take Dewdney Avenue to access
roads west of Kent Street during this closure. Please watch for signs and use caution. Residents
are encouraged to visit Regina.ca/southwest for the latest information about this project, including future restrictions on Kent
Street when they become available.
