Telecommunication Antenna Systems

ystem, ISED considers the recommendation of the local authority, community feedback and whether the proposed antenna system conforms to Health Canada standards regarding health and safety. City of Regina The role of the City is to review all proposed antenna systems, except ones that are exempt from requiring municipal concurrence, and to communicate our recommendation to ISED. The City’s recommendation is based on conformity with the Antenna Systems Protocol, technical factors and community feedback. The City does not factor in radio wave exposure, as this is the responsibility of ISED and Health Canada. Where the proposed antenna system is intended to be located on City-owned land, Council will decide whether to sell or lease the land (ISED can approve the proposed antenna system, but it will not happen if Council does not approve sale/ lease). Service provider/“Carrier” The role of the service provider is to ensure that the requirements of the Government of Canada and the City are followed, including: Consulting the City early in the process to identify optimal location and design preferences.
