
What is the Volunteer RECognition Pass?
Volunteerism helps build a stronger, safer and more vibrant Regina. The Volunteer RECognition Pass is the City of Regina’s way of saying thank you to individuals who dedicate their time and energy to non-profit and community-based organizations.
Each pass provides three complimentary, individual admissions to City of Regina recreation facilities. Organizations can request passes to recognize and reward volunteers who make their work possible.
Who can apply?
Eligible organizations must be:
- A registered non-profit or community-based organization located in Regina.
- Incorporated for at least one year.
- Actively involving volunteers in areas such as:
- Community safety, well-being and social inclusion,
- Youth development, recreation and sport,
- Arts and culture, and
- Public education programs and events.
Ineligible Organizations or Activities
The following are not eligible for the Volunteer RECognition Pass:
- Organizations and groups located outside Regina.
- Activities or groups that discriminate (as defined by The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code).
- Activities that promote political or commercial mandates.
- Individuals requesting passes for personal use or private gain.
- Activities or events without a clear volunteer recognition or community support objective.
- Organizations or groups whose activities conflict with the City’s values and priorities or may compromise the City’s reputation.
- Requests for fundraising for gifts or personal items (e.g., graduation keepsakes).
- After-graduation celebrations.
- Groups or organizations not in good standing with the City of Regina.
How Does the Volunteer RECognition Pass Work?
- Each Volunteer RECognition Pass provides three complimentary admissions to participating recreation facilities.
- The pass must have the volunteer’s name clearly written on it.
- Passes cannot be sold, exchanged or used for any purpose other than volunteer recognition.
- Each volunteer may redeem only one pass per calendar year, regardless of how many organizations they volunteer with.
- Passes expire 12 months from the date of issue.
How to use the Volunteer RECognition pass?
Volunteers can redeem their pass at cashier stations at any of the following City of Regina recreation facilities:
- North West Leisure Centre (NWLC)
- Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre (SSLC)
- Sportplex (Fieldhouse or Lawson Aquatic Centre)
