Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization Project

An integral component of the approved Yards Neighbourhood Plan, the Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization Project is a two-year major construction project between Albert Street and Broad Street.

PROJECT UPDATE – December 1, 2025

Dewdney Avenue is now open to traffic and transit.

After two years, the work completed on the revitalization project gives the City the capacity to support a growing Warehouse District as well as the redevelopment of the Yards. This stretch of Dewdney Avenue between Albert Street and Broad Street saw significant upgrades to the underground infrastructure, including the 100-year-old pipes.

Above ground, Dewdney was transformed into a safer, more livable area with new roads, expanded sidewalks, improved lighting and a multi-purpose outdoor space. To top it all off, the addition of trees that will grow, over time, creating a beautiful canopy over the sidewalks and street, benches to enjoy the new space and bike racks to support alternate modes of transportation have been included in the design.

Project Engagement

Throughout the process, engagement has been a key focus. Below is a summary of the engagement opportunities throughout this project used to identify opportunities, constraints and priorities for Dewdney Avenue Revitalization. Feedback was solicited on this project through a variety of channels including public surveys, design workshops, one-on-one landowner meetings and information sessions.

Dewdney Engagement

Project Investment

The Regina Revitalization Initiative (RRI), which includes the Yards Neighbourhood and Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization projects, was approved for $67.5 million in total. Of that, $33.6 million is funded through a tri-level agreement between the Government of Canada ($11.2 million), Government of Saskatchewan ($11.2 million) and the City of Regina ($11.2 million). The remaining project funds will be allocated by the City of Regina. The cost for the Dewdney Avenue Corridor Revitalization Project is $32 million, which is partly covered by the tri-level agreement funding.
