The City of Regina Service Dashboard provides clear, accessible information about the performance of public facing City services.
While the City has always shared performance information, it has often been spread across various sources. The Service Dashboard brings this information together in one place, making it easier for residents to find, understand and compare results.
Services Included
The dashboard includes performance measures for the following service areas:
- Building Permits
- Community Standards
- Fire & Protective Services
- Parks & Open Spaces
- Sports, Recreation & Culture
- Transit
- Transportation
- Waste Services
- Water, Wastewater & Drainage
Each service area includes measures that reflect how that service is performing.
Status Indicator
The status of each measure’s performance is indicated in the top left corner. The measures are defined by four main categories:
- Green Circle = On Target
- Yellow Circle = Vulnerable
- Red Circle = In Jeopardy
- Grey Line = No target associated
Descriptions and Analysis
The description section for each measure helps readers easily understand what the measure is about and why it matters. It explains what is being tracked, how it relates to the service being delivered and what the numbers mean.
The analysis section helps readers understand why a measure is performing the way it is. While the data and charts show the results, the analysis provides the story behind those numbers. The analysis is updated annually along with the results.
Data Sources and Updates
Most of the data in the dashboard comes directly from the systems and software used by City departments to manage their day-to-day operations.
Because service areas use different tools to track performance, the dashboard consolidates this information into a single, centralized view.
Most measures are updated once per year, typically in the second quarter. This allows time to collect, review and verify results from the previous year. Some measures may be updated later, depending on when data becomes available.

Frequently Asked Questions
How did you decide which measures to include in the Service Dashboard?
Indicators and statistics were chosen based on whether the data was readily available or being collected, if the measure demonstrated how services are performing and if the information provides value to the public.
Will additional services be added?
The dashboard may expand over time as more data becomes available and reporting continues to improve.
Why is the data updated once per year?
Collecting and verifying data across multiple service areas takes time. Annual updates help ensure that the information is accurate and consistent.
Can performance be compared over time?
Yes. The dashboard is designed to show trends and allow for year-over-year comparisons where data is available.
Why do measures differ between service areas?
Each service area has different responsibilities, so the measures used to track performance are not the same.
What is the difference between a service KPI and a service statistic?
The Service Dashboard includes a mix of key performance indicators (KPIs) and service statistics to give a complete picture of City service delivery. KPIs show how well the City is performing by measuring whether expected standards such as timeliness, reliability or safety are being met. Service statistics are counts or totals that describe activity levels but do not necessarily measure performance.
By presenting both types of information, the dashboard helps residents understand not only how much the City is doing, but also how well services are being delivered.
